Cloudesley Association Update

1. Open Garden

2. Dowrey St Site

3. Planning

1. "Open Garden"

Gilvrie and David Lock, who live at No 11 Cloudesley Street have a beautiful garden which they are opening to the public on 28th June 2-6pm as part of The National Gardens Scheme. If you are a keen gardener or would just like to see an incredibly well designed garden in the area, this is a lovely opportunity so please do come along.

2. Dowrey Street Site

Morgan Sindell have not yet selected their Site Manager for the works, however the Council have provided the Association with the contact details of their project manager who will be overseeing the project on their behalf.

Florence and I are going to wait until the builders are on site (it was supposed to have commenced on 15 June but clearly commencement must have been put back) and then we plan to have a meeting with the site and project managers to discuss the project, get some answers on timetable, rodents, trees and any other issues. We will contact you before we have that meeting to give residents a chance to send their issues lists/questions to us in advance of that meeting.

In terms of the concerns regarding pest infestation, Morgan Sindell have informed the Council that in line with their normal processes they will undertake a survey as part of the early works and will provide any action plans necessary once the survey results are known – Florence and I will obviously be following up on this issue in particular with the project/site managers.

3. Planning

We have received a couple of e mails on the topic of planning applications in the area. We would like to take this discussion forward with our street reps first, but as an Association we are keen to help advertise planning applications that residents feel may be of interest to others (typically those that affect the character of the street/area or may cause major disruption such as external or subterranean building works). Depending on the nature of the application, it may not be appropriate for the Association itself to respond/comment on such planning applications but clearly we are happy to share information to our residents.

As ever, if you know of any neighbour who is not on the Cloudesley Association e-mail distribution list, please pass this e-mail on and/or ask them to provide me with their contact details so that they can be kept in the loop.
