Cloudesley Association Update – September 2016

1. Dowrey Street Site

Please find attached the monthly newsletter produced by Morgan Sindall, which includes an apology for the noise/disruption that was caused on the evening of 26 August. The attached newsletter contains details for Kevin Morrallee, the project manager, as well as phone numbers for Paul Harris and Tom Butvillas, the current site managers. If you have any concerns/issues please do feel free to contact them.

2. Open House London

It is this time of the year again! London Open House is your opportunity to explore hundreds of exciting buildings in London. The programme for 2016 has been announced, which includes lots of places to discover in Islington and throughout London over the weekend of the 17th & 18th September.

Programme details can be found at

Please note that you may need to make a booking for some locations, although there are plenty of architectural wonders that do not require booking and you can just pop by and visit. Well worth it - there is something for everyone, from the small private residential projects to schools and offices, as well as new build and historic buildings.

3. Residents Meeting

Please note that we are now able to confirm that we will be holding our next residents meeting on Tuesday 11 October 2016 (not Monday 10th as we mentioned in our previous update as we struggled to get a room for that date).

The meeting will take place at 6.45pm at the first floor function room in the Drapers Arms again. We will circulate an agenda beforehand. We were hoping that Rowena Champion might be able to join us but she is sadly busy that night. However, Rowena is hoping to meet up with us in advance of the meeting to talk through local issues and we will provide feedback during our residents meeting.

4. Kings Cross Events

• London Fashion Week is coming to Kings Cross Friday 16th – Tuesday 20th September.

• "Everyman on the Corner", a temporary bespoke 32 seat Everyman cinema has arrived in the Plimsoll Building (on the corner of Wollstonecraft St and Handyside St).

• The London Greek Wine Festival is back for a second year on the weekend of 8th / 9th October. Tickets can be bought here:

If you are aware of any event, consultation or news item that you would like us to include in our next newsletter, please let us (or your street rep) know.

As ever, if you know of any neighbour who is not on the Cloudesley Association e mail distribution list, please pass this e mail on and/or ask them to provide me with their contact details so that they can be kept in the loop.
